Reimagining Comprehensive Maternal Healthcare – Rimsha’s Story

Rimsha, a 22-year-old mother, had almost lost hope of becoming a mother. After two miscarriages, she had begun to worry that she might never experience the joy of parenthood. But after visiting Indus Hospital & Health Network for check-ups, she became pregnant and then gave birth to a healthy baby boy, Muhammad Waheed.

Originally from Punjab, Rimsha moved to Karachi after marriage and began a new life with her in-laws. Adjusting to a new city and a large household of seven people was challenging, but her determination and resilience helped her navigate these changes.

During her pregnancy, Rimsha enrolled in the NourishMom Program at Indus Hospital & Health Network. This program provided her with a vital ration package, including lentils, flour, rice, oil, and milk, which helped address her weakness and ensured she received the necessary nutrients for a healthy pregnancy.

After three years of marriage, Rimsha’s family was overjoyed when she finally gave birth to a healthy baby boy. The arrival of Muhammad Waheed brought immense happiness to the entire household, and her in-laws were thrilled to welcome their new grandchild.
