Kashif’s Journey: Finding Relief from Chronic Pain

When Kashif Imtiaz was just 16 years old, he discovered he had a debilitating disease that would go on to affect his mobility and quality of life for decades to come. As Kashif entered his mid-30s, the disease began to take its toll. Simple tasks like walking became a struggle, and he was constantly in pain. Medications provided temporary relief, but they didn’t address the underlying issue. Kashif’s work and daily life suffered significantly as a result.

The pain in his knees was excruciating, making everyday activities like traveling by bus or sitting on the floor impossible. Even short periods of sitting would leave him in agony. Despite his desperate need for treatment, Kashif couldn’t afford the expensive surgeries quoted to him – PKR 600,000 to 700,000 was a staggering amount that was far beyond his means.

But in 2023, Kashif’s luck changed. He discovered Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN) and Project GODA, which offered him the treatment he so desperately needed. After a decade of living with debilitating pain, Kashif finally found relief. He was provided free orthopedic surgery that allowed him to walk again. Throughout his journey, Kashif’s family was a rock of support. His brothers, sisters, wife, and child stood by him, providing emotional strength and encouragement.
